Immaculate Conception Parish

 

 

 

 

1966 Reverend Robert Kreckel was named pastor of Immaculate Conception until he was transferred in 1973. Reverend P. Paul Brennan was

named Co-Pastor with Fr. Kreckel.

 

1973 Reverend P. Paul Brennan was named pastor of Immaculate Conception after Fr. Kreckel was appointed pastor of Fairport.

 

1976 Fr Brennan and Sister Francis Sweeney started a unique concept of team ministry.

 

1979 The exterior of Immaculate Conception was painted. The interior of the church was redecorated and a group of enthusiastic and dedicated

 parishioners refinished the pews and kneelers and spent hours in refurbishing the vestibules and gallery

 

1987  Reverend Edward Dillon was appointed pastor of Immaculate Conception.

 

1990 Reverend Michael G. Upson appointed Temporary Administrator of Immaculate Conception. Parish undertakes a major campaign to refurbish the

exterior of the church.

 

1992 The Church continues it’s relationship with  the University of Rochester by extending it’s lease of the school building to Mount Hope Family Center.

 

1999 A ramp is added to make the church to make the facility wheel chair accessible. Immaculate Conception celebrates it’s 150th Anniversary on the Feast

Of  the Immaculate Conception Day, Bishop Mathew Clark was the principal celebrant.

 

2000 Immaculate Conception undergoes a major renovation of the interior of the church. Services are held in the auditorium of the school building

 

2005  Reverend Paul Gitau is appointed Parochial Administrator of the parish.
